The wild essence

The new Georgian resort of Tetnuldi, called “Mecca” of freeride and downhill skiing, is for every skier, less or more demanding, passionate, loving powder and beautiful mountain views. Tetnuldi is a prominent peak in the central part of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range, located in the Svaneti region of Georgia.

Tetnuldi is the 10th highest peak of the Caucasus. The slopes of the mountain are glaciated generally above the 3,000 metre (9,840 ft) line. The most prominent glacier of the mountain is called Adishi.

The lifts are as modern as the one in the Alps. The prices are 5 times lower. And surroundings 10 times wilder.

Where will we stay?

We will sleep in a cosy and well equiped Guest house near the town Mestia where you find shops, restaurants, cafés, museum and very original architecture of the Svaneti towers.

Today it belongs to the world’s most trendy ski slopes. The ski resort is situated at 2260 m. – 3165 m.n. with excellent snow quality and beautiful views of the famous Mt. Ushba 4710m.n.m, also called the “Matterhorn” of the Caucasus.

I truly recommend Hikeslovakia, our guide Maria showed us unusual places in Georgia, we met interesting people, enjoyed tons of powder and returned with positive experience and great photos.

Truly an amazing experience altogether. Endless amounts of fresh snow on very accessible, but spectacular, back-country mountains. Very modern lifts on the ski areas. Super friendly people, excellent food and vine. Really a pleasant surprise for me to discover all this in a country that I did not know much about before. I will most certainly be back. Our guide (Maria) sure knew this area - where to go and what to do - both on the mountains and in the towns of Mestia and Ushguli.
